Multichannel News reported yesterday that EchoStar has filed documents with the FCC to split the company and spin off DISH Network as its own company. The new company will be called EchoStar Holding Corporation.
EchoStar Holding Corporation (EHC) was incorporated in Nevada on October 12, 2007. As part of the spin-off, EchoStar will contribute approximately $1.4 billion in cash and investment securities to EHC.
Interestingly, EchoStar is asking for expedited approval from the FCC on or before December 15th.
