Leading the offensive when Canon fired out three new Ixus point-and-shoots last week was the 10-megapixel 970 IS. Granted, it's a corker, but the newbie that really caught our alluring gaze was the Ixus 90 IS.
So much so, we plonked T3.com Editor and photophile Haje Jan Kamps in front of the curious lens of our camcorder to talk us through the features on this cracking compact.
The Ixus 90 IS boasts 10-megapixels and a 3x optical zoom, but backs it up with a chiselled, solid exterior and a hard case protecting the 3-inch LCD screen.
Our video demonstrates the innovative scroll-wheel menu on the reverse, the 19 shooting modes making life easy for the amateur, and of course the superb face detection function.
It's certainly not cheap, starting at £259, but we think it's definitely worth a punt. Check out the video and decide for yourself.
