Inside the iPod

It seems it's true what people say about those crazy cats across the Pond - bigger is indeed better in their eyes. Just take the iPod-esque Porta-Party.

A giant iPod shaped booth you can walk into, inside it's a one-man party machine for, as the LA artist Nick Rodrigues puts it, "If you like partying but hate people". A party without people? You'll be telling us there are no carrot strips with dip next.

Solo exhibitionists should be aware that once you step in, shut the door and go crazy, the screen on the front turns into a video displaying whatever the hell you're getting up to inside. So slipping in for a private five may not be the one-man show you were hoping for.

"Is this a statement about isolation or just a fun place to make out and do other scandalous activities?" Rodrigues comments on his website. Well if the designer doesn't know what it's for, how in all that's musical and Apple-y are we supposed to know? "Who knows," he continues, "what I do know is that it's available for rent at your next party".

We're okay thanks Nick; we've booked a Swedish netball team, bouncy castle and 5,000 litres of whipped cream. Now that's a party.
